Terms of Service
Eris — Eris League LLC (New York)
Effective Date: June 8, 2026
Governing Law: State of New York
Welcome to Eris. By creating an account or using any part of this platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1. About Eris
Eris is a women's sports survivor league platform operated by Eris League LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a New York limited liability company. The platform is accessible at erisleague.com and allows users to create and participate in fantasy survivor-style leagues centered on women's professional sports, including the WNBA, PWHL, NWSL, and additional leagues as added over time.
Eris is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with the WNBA, PWHL, NWSL, or any professional sports league, team, player, or governing body. All league names, team names, and related marks are the property of their respective owners.
2. Not a Gambling Platform
Eris is not a sportsbook, gambling platform, wagering service, daily fantasy sports operator, or any form of regulated gaming service. No real money, prizes, cash equivalents, or items of monetary value are offered, awarded, or distributed through the Eris platform in connection with any league, competition, or game outcome.
Leagues on Eris are played for entertainment and competitive engagement only. Any activity that occurs outside of the Eris platform — including but not limited to private wagers, prize pools, or side arrangements between users or commissioners — is entirely outside the scope of Eris's services and beyond our responsibility or liability.
Eris explicitly prohibits the use of our platform to facilitate, organize, or promote gambling, wagering, or prize-based competition of any kind. Accounts found to be in violation of this prohibition may be suspended or terminated.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use Eris. By signing up, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We reserve the right to terminate any account found to belong to a person under 18.
By using Eris, you represent that you are not prohibited from using the platform under the laws of your jurisdiction. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that your use of Eris complies with all laws applicable to you. Users in jurisdictions where fantasy competitions are restricted or prohibited use the platform entirely at their own risk.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating your account
- Not share your account with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at hello@erisleague.com
- Use only one account per person
- Not impersonate any other person or entity
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. League Structure & Commissioner Authority
Creating and Joining Leagues
Users may create private or public leagues and invite others to join. Public leagues may appear in the Eris league discovery directory. League creators automatically become the commissioner of their league.
Commissioner Status
Commissioners are independent users of the Eris platform and are not employees, agents, contractors, or representatives of Eris League LLC in any capacity. Eris League LLC is not responsible or liable for the actions, decisions, omissions, or conduct of any commissioner.
Commissioner Responsibilities
Commissioners have significant control over league settings, including:
- Managing league membership and invitations
- Configuring scoring formats and competition types
- Setting pick deadlines and team reuse rules
- Adjusting lives in Multi-Life format leagues
- Managing league schedules and settings during a season
Commissioner decisions are binding within their league. By joining a league, you acknowledge that the commissioner has authority over league-level decisions and that Eris does not guarantee the fairness, consistency, or outcome of any individual league.
Eris Platform Authority
Notwithstanding commissioner authority, Eris retains final authority over all platform-level disputes. Eris reserves the right to:
- Remove any league from the platform
- Suspend or terminate any user account
- Rename leagues that violate our community standards
- Override or reverse commissioner actions that violate these Terms
- Modify or discontinue any feature or competition format
6. Competition Formats
Classic Survivor
Users pick one team per week. A correct pick keeps the user in the league; an incorrect pick eliminates them. Team reuse rules are configured by the commissioner.
Multi-Life
Users have a configurable number of lives. Incorrect picks cost one life. Elimination occurs when all lives are lost. Lives may be adjusted by the commissioner within platform limits.
Confidence Points
Users pick all games each week and assign unique confidence point values to each pick. Correct picks earn the assigned points. The user with the highest total at the end of the season wins.
Team Reuse Rules
Commissioners may configure team reuse rules for their leagues. Reuse settings may be changed by the commissioner during a season. Eris is not responsible for the impact of commissioner-initiated reuse rule changes on league outcomes.
7. Sports Data & Accuracy
Eris relies on third-party data providers for sports schedules, scores, statistics, and game results. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure data accuracy, we do not guarantee that:
- Scores or results are accurate, complete, or timely
- Schedules will not change, be postponed, or be cancelled
- Third-party data feeds will be available without interruption
In the event of a data error, scoring discrepancy, or schedule change, Eris reserves the right to make corrections, adjustments, or rulings as we deem appropriate. These decisions are final. Eris is not liable for any loss, disadvantage, or dispute arising from data inaccuracies or third-party data provider failures.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Eris to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Facilitate, promote, or organize gambling, wagering, or prize-based competition
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or commissioners
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
- Attempt to manipulate league outcomes through unauthorized means
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform
- Reverse engineer, copy, or replicate any part of the platform
- Violate any third-party intellectual property rights
We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, and report violations to applicable authorities where warranted.
9. Dormant & Abandoned Accounts
An account is considered dormant if there has been no login or activity for 12 consecutive months. For dormant accounts:
- We may send a notice to your registered email address before taking any action
- We reserve the right to deactivate dormant accounts after a reasonable notice period
- Leagues you created as commissioner may be reassigned, archived, or removed if your account becomes dormant during an active season
We will make reasonable efforts to preserve active league data for non-commissioner members even if a commissioner's account becomes dormant.
10. User-Generated Content
To the extent you submit any content to the platform — including league names, usernames, or future community features such as chat messages or profile content — you retain ownership of that content. By submitting content, you grant Eris League LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, moderate, archive, or remove your content as necessary to operate the platform.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our community standards without notice.
